Review Obsidian

Image
Obsidian by Jennifer L. Armentrout.  Starting over sucks. When we moved to West Virginia right before my senior year, I'd pretty much resigned myself to thick accents, dodgy internet access, and a whole lot of boring.... until I spotted my hot neighbor, with his looming height and eerie green eyes. Things were looking up. And then he opened his mouth. Daemon is infuriating. Arrogant. Stab-worthy. We do not get along. At all. But when a stranger attacks me and Daemon literally freezes time with a wave of his hand, well, something...unexpected happens.  (read more here ) I deleted some of the text since I really don't think people should read it. It tells too much instead of us being surprised over what happens.  "the secret" is not exactly one os the first things going on in the book and what Daemon and Dee is, it's all out there pretty much, but I choose to avoid it now, at least until the next review. Well, on to the review, I'll try to e...

A Discovery of Witches by Deborah Harkness Goodreads "A wonderfully imaginative grown-up fantasy with all the magic of "Harry Potter" and "Twilight."" -"People" In a sparkling debut, "A Discovery of Witches" became the "it" book of early 2011, bringing Deborah Harkness into the spotlight and galvanizing fans around the world. In this tale of passion and obsession, Diana Bishop, a young scholar and the descendant of witches, discovers a long-lost and enchanted alchemical manuscript deep in Oxford's Bodleian Library. Its reappearance summons a fantastical underworld, which she navigates with her leading man, vampire geneticist Matthew Clairmont. Harkness has created a universe to rival those of Anne Rice, Diana Gabaldon, and Elizabeth Kostova, and she adds a scholar's depth to this riveting story of magic and suspense I got this as a early birthday present from my friend! :D We're currently reading it ...
