Woods Wednesday #8

Image
Woods wednesday is in dedication to a story me and Stephanie from  Bookfever   have going on Goodreads. I am currently editing the story and to make that move faster I have decided to start Woods wednesday. It will mean that every wednesday I will share a picture, collage, maybe even a little teaser from some of the previous added chapters or maybe even some from the part that we are currently working on. It could also be a characters bio, an interview with one or one of the many facts about Geoff Woods. And of course also add a new chapter (hence making it move faster) to Goodreads every wednesday.  Let's start yet again with some more facts about Geoff:  7. He's good at climbing trees.  8. He's got a hot body.  9. He likes to throw away panties.  And a picture of Geoff  :)  The text is from part one of the story, but it is not actually included on Goodreads since the story mostly focuses on Krysta and her thoughts so Geoff...

Review "A Discovery of Witches"

Image
A Discovery of Witches by Deborah Harkness A richly inventive novel about a centuries-old vampire, a spellbound witch, and the mysterious manuscript that draws them together.  Deep in the stacks of Oxford's Bodleian Library, young scholar Diana Bishop unwittingly calls up a bewitched alchemical manuscript in the course of her research. Descended from an old and distinguished line of witches, Diana wants nothing to do with sorcery; so after a furtive glance and a few notes, she banishes the book to the stacks. But her discovery sets a fantastical underworld stirring, and a horde of daemons, witches, and vampires soon descends upon the library. Diana has stumbled upon a coveted treasure lost for centuries-and she is the only creature who can break its spell. Debut novelist Deborah Harkness has crafted a mesmerizing and addictive read, equal parts history and magic, romance and suspense. Diana is a bold heroine who meets her equal in vampire geneticist Matthew Clairmont, and g...

First, let'ss go with three more facts about Geoff Woods:  4. He's an amazing cook!  5. He has blue eyes that are to die for!  6. Teaser Tuesday Aug 20th

Image
Teaser Tuesdays  is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of  Should Be Reading . Anyone can play along! Just do the following: •  Grab your current read •  Open to a random page •  Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page •  BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS!  (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!) •  Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers! My teaser:  So I just finished Creatura and thought I'd share a great a quote from that, so here it is:  “I crave your lips.” His breath was sweet. “Give me but one taste and I shall ask no more.”  -David Isis can control her dreams. Or she could—until recently. The creature in her nightmares has been haunting her for months. As if being dumped wasn’t bad enough, now she dread...

Review "Creatura" by Nely Cab + Interview with the author!

Image
Creatura by Nely Cab 2nd Edition Publication: August 6th, 2013 Word Count: approx. 82,000 Genre: YA Paranormal Romance Recommended Age:  13+ Isis can control her dreams. Or she could—until recently. The creature in her nightmares has been haunting her for months. As if being dumped wasn’t bad enough, now she dreads going to sleep. She decides to confront the creature and win back some of her peace; only, she finds that he’s not a monster and he’s not a dream.  A sacrifice for love, a shocking discovery and a jealous ex-boyfriend blur the lines between reality and dreams, making it hard to tell who the real monsters are.  Who would’ve known…that sometimes love is lethal? My rating:  I really really enjoyed this book!  First starting the book I thougt it would be a cute little story, boy meets girl and they fall in love and of course with the supernatural twist to it.  That was not what I got with t...

Throwback Thursday #3

Image
Throwback Thursday  is a weekly bookish meme hosted by me and Stephanie @ Bookfever  where we feature books that we've read in the past but are still crazy about. It could be a book you read as a child and still remember and love or maybe just a book that you haven't read in a long time and want to show your love for. Each week we'll be featuring a new random question to answer!   My pick this week:  City of Bones by Cassandra Clare When fifteen-year-old Clary Fray heads out to the Pandemonium Club in New York City, she hardly expects to witness a murder—much less a murder committed by three teenagers covered with strange tattoos and brandishing bizarre weapons. Then the body disappears into thin air. It’s hard to call the police when the murderers are invisible to everyone else and when there is nothing—not even a smear of blood—to show that a boy has died. Or was he a boy? This is Clary’s first meeting with the Shadowhunters, warriors dedicate...

It could also be a characters bio, an interview with one or one of the many facts about Geoff Woods. And of course also add a new chapter (hence making it move faster) to Goodreads every wednesday. Today I want to share the first chapter of the story along with some facts about Geoff. First off, here's the first chapter:  Krysta was walking through the woods and it started raining, so she went to hide under a tree. She waited until the rain would stop but it didn't. It kept on raining and suddenly there was thunder, she screamed, because the thunder fright...
