Review: "Be with me"

Be with me by J. Lynn

Teresa Hamilton is having a rough year—she’s in love with her big brother’s best friend, but he hasn’t spoken to her since they shared a truly amazing, mind-blowing, change-your-life kiss. She got out of a terrible relationship. And now an injury is threatening to end her dance career for good. It’s time for Plan B – college. And maybe a chance to convince Jase that what they have together is real.
Jase Winstead has a huge secret that he’s not telling anyone. Especially not his best friend’s incredibly beautiful sister. Even though he and Teresa shared the hottest kiss of his life, he knows that his responsibilities must take priority. He certainly doesn’t have time for a relationship. But it doesn’t help that all he can think about kissing the one girl who could ruin everything for him.
As they’re thrown together more and more, Jase and Tess can’t keep denying their feelings for each other. But a familiar danger looms and tragedy strikes. As the campus recovers, the star-crossed couple must decide what they’re willing to risk to be together, and what they’re willing to lose if they’re not…

When I first found out about this book I was so excited and I was going crazy waiting for it. When I finally got my hands on it I was beyond happy. I just couldn't wait to start Teresa and Jase's story.

Teresa has to, for now, go with her plan B... college instead of dancing like she really wants to. Being at the same college as her brother also means being close to her brother's best friend, Jase who's also attending college. What makes it worse is that they haven't spoken since sharing a kiss years back.
It's pretty obvious from the start that Teresa still has a thing for Jase, she has't forgotten a thing or their kiss for that matter. Being closer to him just makes it even harder for her to forget about him. I liked Teresa's character, her inner monologue could be hilarious, but at the same time I felt really bad for her because it's clear that she's struggling with everything, what happened with her ex-boyfriend and how she can't really dance anymore. It's even worse when Jase keeps being a jerk to her, saying all the wrong things. Jase even though he could really frustrating since he kept denying his feelings and said some really hurtful things, I still loved him. He's really a great guy and supports Teresa, or Tess as he says (btw, really love that) whether or not she'll be dancing or have to figure out something else.
Them togehter there's lots of sexual tension and love those moments where they give in and go with it at least just for a moment.
The whole plot of the best friend's sister is there, but it's that big of an issue since Jase's big secret is really the main reason why, that being said I LOVED when Cam found out and it all went down. But "the issue" was still there and I loved it, adds some drama.
Speaking of drama- Teresa and Jase's love life wasn't the only thing happening in the book, there were some things that you didn't see coming and Teresa had to deal with her roommate being in a abusive relationship, a thing she knows about.
Another thing I loved about the book was getting glimpses of Cam and Avery. I just loved how you could tell that Cam was slowly moving in with Avery, so cute. There's also more things happening in their relationship and I also loved seeing their relationship from the outside instead.

Overall I loved this book. Cam is still my absolute favorite, but Jase is a close second. I don't know how JLA keeps coming out this amazing books. The writing and dialogue between characters were as entertaining as always. JLA has once again created an amazing book filled with romance and tension that'll keep you turning the pages.

“I love you like I love cupcakes.”

“Jase rested his forehead against mine and closed his eyes. His warm breath danced over my lips. “I want to take you out on a date. I want to take you horseback riding. I want to tell your brother. I want to take you home to my parents and introduce you as my girlfriend. I want to prove this means more to me. I want to do this the right way.”

“I want you to be with me.”

He closed his eyes and a deep sound came from the back of his throat. “God, Tess…”I swallowed hard and then tilted my head, lining up our mouths. “Jase?”There was a moment of hesitation and then he kissed me softly, a gently sweep of his lips over mine. A barely there touch that somehow effected me more than any of the other kisses.

“I know you’ve been drinking. I don’t want that hanging between us.”“But—”“We’ll talk more later. Okay? Right now, let me just get your not-drunk-but-slightly-tipsy cute ass upstairs.”“You think my ass is cute?”He pulled away, laughing. “Baby, your ass is like my own personal holy ground.”
