Throwback Thursday #38

Throwback Thursday  is a bookish meme hosted every two weeks by me and Stephanie @ Bookfever  where we feature books that we've read in the past but are still crazy about. It could be a book you read as a child and still remember and love or maybe just a book that you haven't read in a long time and want to show your love for. Each week we'll be featuring a new random question to answer! My pick this week: Ascend by Amanda Hocking Wendy Everly can barely remember what it was like to feel like a normal girl. She'd wished for her life to be different but everything is so much more complicated than she'd expected. And she certainly hadn't dreamt she'd be getting married at 18 to man she didn't love - all for the sake of duty. One of the things I liked about this series that she actually doesn't end up with who you think so at first when you start the series. I liked that for once it was different and played out in a...

Each week we'll be featuring a new random question to answer! My pick this week: Chosen by P.C Cast & Kristin Cast.  Dark forces are at work at the House of Night and Zoey Redbird’s adventures at the school take a mysterious turn. Her best friend, Stevie Rae, is undead and struggling to maintain a grip on her humanity. Zoey finds herself in the very unexpected and rare situation of having three boyfriends. Mix a little bloodlust into the equation and the situation has the potential to spell social disaster. Just when it seems things couldn’t get any tougher, vampyres start turning up dead. Really dead. It looks like...

Each week we'll be featuring a new random question to answer! My pick this week: This side of the Grave by Jeaniene Frost Danger waits on both sides of the grave. Half-vampire Cat Crawfield and her vampire husband Bones have fought for their lives, as well as for their relationship. But just when they've triumphed over the latest battle, Cat's new and unexpected abilities threaten to upset a long-standing balance . . . With the mysterious disappearance of vampires, rumors abound that a species war is brewing. A zealot is inciting tensions between the vampires and ghouls, and if these two powerful groups clash,...

Each week we'll be featuring a new random question to answer! My pick this week: Betrayed by P.C Cast & Kristin Cast Zoey, High Priestess in training, has managed to settle in at the House of Night and come to terms with the vast powers the Vampyre Goddess Nyx has given her. Just as she finally feels she belongs, the unthinkable happens: human teenagers are being killed, and all evidence points to the House of Night. While danger stalks the humans from Zoey’s old life, she begins to realize that the very powers that make her so unique might also threaten those she loves. Ahhh, once upon a time I really liked the...

My pick this week: Torn by Amanda Hocking Acknowledging that she was different from everyone else wasn't difficult for Wendy, she'd always felt like an outsider. But a new world and family is a little hard for any girl to accept. Leaving behind the country of her birth, she is determined to fit back into normal life. But the world she's left won't let her go that easily. Such a great book. I think one of the things that I really loved were that things really didn't turn out the way you thought they would.  Amazing series, really.  ...
