Review "Prophecy of the most Beautiful" + Interview! (OOD blog tour)

Prophecy of the Most Beautiful by Diantha Jones

She has a destiny so great that even the gods fear her.
Constant hallucinations and the frequent conversations with the voices in her head, have earned eighteen-year-old Chloe Clever the not-so-coveted title of "Whack Job" in her home town of Adel, Georgia. With the onslaught of prescription medications and therapists threatening to push her over the edge, she wishes for a life far away from the one she has, a life where she is destined to be more than the butt of everyone's jokes and mockery.
Be careful what you wish for has never rung more true.
After living through an attack from her worst nightmare, she awakens to find herself far from home, surrounded by glorious riches and servants…and a few demigods who enjoy killing things. Upon learning that her favorite rockstar is an Olympian god, she is thrust into her new life as the Oracle of Delphi, the prophesier of the future, and the great Pythia that the gods have been anxiously awaiting to arrive for centuries. Setting out to fulfill the prophecy she has been given and to keep her family safe from a demigod Princess that wants her dead, Chloe learns of how great she is to become, all the while fighting mythical monsters, evading divine assassins and trying to outwit the ever-cunning Greek gods who harbor secrets of their own. In the hopes of discovering the Most Beautiful and the truth of her destiny, she strives to uncover the mysteries of the demigod Prince who has sworn to protect her with his life…and threatens to win her heart in the process.

My review:

*4.5 STARS!*

So, I've heard a lot about this book from fellow readers who kept going on and on about it, saying how good it was and I had to read it. So now that I finally got to read it myslef I was not disappointed. A day after finishing the book I found myself stopping at Disney channel to watch the Hercules cartoon cause I was like uh it's Zeus, what can I say, the book just stayed with me even after I finished it, had to have some more greek gods.
Anyways, the book starts of with a lot of questions being raised as to what is going on here, but as I got deeper into the book I found myself getting more and more hooked by this world of demigods and gods. A lot of great characters, the demigods were all really fun and then there was Strafford Law of course. Yuum. And he's a prince, so now I'll just go get myself in trouble so he can come on his white horse and save me.. okay okay that's fairy tales, but it might work. Don't judge. I mean who can resist an IRISH prince! His brother Ace I really liked, too and Swindle. And then there's Apollo, I really really really liked him! He wasn't there thát much, but that was all it took for me to love him. He's just so much fun and he's a rockstar, so yeah can't resist liking him.
As I got further into the book I couldn't stop reading, the last part went really fast for me because of all the excciting things that was happening. I felt like a was going on a quest with them all, experiencing everything they were.
Another detail I loved was their computer and their morphs (object that can turn into weapons), really cool. To top it all off there has to be the cliffhanger end, of course so we just sit here and yearn for the next one to figure out what will happen next.
What makes it that half star less was Chloe. In the beginning she was just too much of a damsel in distress, but I could also really see her evolving through the book so that's why it wasn't so bad, I can tell that as she herself get more into this world, she'll learn more.
Overall the plot was great, characters likeable - very much so! The writing was very good.
Definitely a book I would recommend, especially if you love greek myth or you're just looking for a great read!

Quotes:

She crossed her arms. "You're just too busy being a bad ass all the time to notice any of his good qualities." He grinned. "You think I’m a bad ass?" She rolled her eyes. "You’re impossible."-Strafford and Chloe.

That night, Strafford kept watch instead of sleeping and that pissed her off. She had been looking forward to having another flirt-and-blush session with him. Oh. Well.-Chloe.

"Ready to die?" Radiance asked casually as Strafford stepped forward. He flashed and held Aor outward. "No. Achin' to kill…"-Strafford.

"So how do we summon the Conductor then?" she asked instead. He smiled and whispered into her ear. "You've got to be kidding me!" She guffawed. "Say it," he demanded. "Out loud." She stared at him. "Double your pleasure, double your fun?"

And now for the really awesome part of this review. My interview with the god Apollo. He has got to be one of my favorite characters in the book despite him not even being there that much. He left an impression on me that's for sure, I almost want there to be a "Team Apollo" as well. I don't know what it is, maybe it's the rockstar thing that has me swooning over him, maybe it's his godness or just the way that he is.
Now for the interview:

*Welcome to Booksane Apollo or L.A whichever you prefer *smiles nervously*
*First of, Stephanie from Bookfever told me to say hi from her and Jenn from Book bird reviews.
*Oh yeah, Stephanie. I remember that mortal. Cute thing who asked some very “interesting” questions. And the other, Jenn, you call a book bird? *taps chin thoughtfully* Never heard of such a creature. Are they anything like ravens? I’d hope so. Ravens are pretty bad ass fowls.
*So far I don't know that much about you, other than the things I've heard, so let's get this show on the road, shall we *clears throat*
*Sure thing. *kicks feet up; grins wickedly*
*Tell me three things about yourself that you consider your most valuable assets.
*Besides my dashing looks, you mean? I’m prophetic, which means I can see the future, and I have complete power over the sun. It rises and sets on my will alone. Then there’s my charm. I’m the most charming person you know, sweetheart. Now, shall we move on to my best physical assets?
*Gulps* The three worst ones?
*rolls eyes* That can’t be a serious question, mortal. It just can’t be.
*Blushes* So I gotta ask, the whole rockstar thing, why do you do that? Do you enjoy the attention or do you do it just for the music?
*I’m the god of music, if you didn’t already know. It’s part of my essence and no one is more susceptible to my tunes like mortals. Vocally, I’m amazing, and come on. You can’t tell me my ass doesn’t look great in a pair of jeans. *winks*
*What are you the most passionate about?
*sighs* Outside of the bedroom, passion is a useless thing. At least, to a god.
*Describe a typical day for you.
Oh, let’s see. After my usual night of debauchery and mayhem, I stumble onto my chariot and guide the sun across the universe. *holds up a hand* Don’t try to wrap your mind around that, mortal. It’s beyond you. *kicks feet up* Where was I? Oh yeah. After I handle my divine duties and all of that, I search out breakfast. Nectar and ambrosia is the best.
Then later, while I’m lazing about, I poke around in the future a bit and try to see all that the Fates will allow me to see. They let me see a lot, but never enough. And the Oracle...they cut me off of her the day she was born. Good thing I already saw most of what I needed to see concerning her.
If there are any tribunals of the gods to attend in Olympus, I do that, then I laze about some more. Since my band never needs to practice, I use that time to scour the Earth with my sight looking for any mortal women that tickle my fancy. Sometimes I find them, but more often than not I end up in Ireland with my favorite Irish vixen. At sunset, I hand my duties over to my twin Artemis, then I either prepare to play a mortal rockstar or I head to Los Atlas for another night of disorderly conduct with Dionysus. So yeah, overall I’m pretty laid back and chill. *grins* Until I’m not.
*I'm sure you know of some celebrity mortals, if you do then who do you think you look the most like?
*Diantha says I look like some creature named Ian Somerhalder. Ha! If anything, he looks like me. But in reality, my handsome features are impossible to duplicate. My son, Strafford, looks a lot like me, but only because I wanted it that way.
*Giggles* What's the worst thing you have gotten away with?
*smiles* Oh, I’m sure you’ll find out soon enough. Diantha and her flapping mortal mouth reveal all in Prophecy of the Setting Sunrise. Honestly, that woman is impossible to control. A lover, that's what she needs. Then maybe she wouldn't be so concerned with the business of gods.
*Diantha peeks over his shoulder to see the computer screen and sighs* Have I ever told you how much I dislike you?
*Apollo chuckles* All the time. But I do like most mortal men, and tune you out. *Hits send and disappears before Diantha can smack him*
Thanks for the interview! :D
