Re-readathon: Frostbite by Richelle Mead ~ Chapter 16-20

To keep up with our goal of re-reading more of our favorite books and re-discover them we created this challenge to help accomplish that goal. We will read five chapters each week with a blog post every sunday.

Frostbite (Vampire Academy #2) by Richelle Mead

It’s winter break at St Vladimir’s, and a massive Strigoi vampire attack has put the school on high alert. This year’s trip away from the academy to the wintery peaks of Idaho has suddenly become mandatory.
But Rose’s troubles seem to follow her wherever she goes—dealing with the pain of knowing that her relationship with her tutor Dimitri can never be, things get even more complicated when one her closest friends admits his feelings for her.
The glittering winter landscape may create the illusion of safety but Rose—and her heart—are in more danger than she ever could have imagined...

*Remember there will be spoilers*

Chapter 16:
First sentence:
Lissa found me later in the day.

The start of the chapter is Rose and Lissa talking and Lissa gets Rose to go to this banquet which Rose really doesn't want to go to, but Lissa convinces her. Of course Adrian is there and we get to enjoy more of him until Rose's mother, Janine pulls her away from him.

Quote:
His amusement continued. "What are you doing here, little dhampir? Are you following me around?"

Chapter 17:
First sentence:
"What do you think you're doing?" she demanded.

So Rose's mother wants a little talk with Rose about how she shouldn't flirt with Moroi and so on. After that "pleasant" talk Rose talks to Dimitri. Rose actually tells him to take Tasha's offer. Aww.

Quote:
You can't force love, I realized. It's there or it isn't. If it's not there, you've got to be able to admit it. If it is there, you've got to do whatever it takes to protect the ones you love.

Chapter 18:
First sentence:
The high heels were starting to hurt me, so I took them off when I went back inside, walking barefoot through the lodge.

Rose decides to find Mason and tell them that it won't work between them and she finds out that Mason, Eddie and Mia went to find the Strgoi on their own. Not very smart of them and now the other pretty much have to save them from that disaster. Rose goes to, of all people for her to talk to, Christian. He goes with her to find the others when they find them they get them to come back, but before they do, they get taken and then.... Dum dum duuuum! *Dramatic music*

Quote:
Christian and I didn't talk much along the way, except for me to tell him he'd been an idiot about Lissa and Adrian.

Chapter 19:
First sentence:
I hate being powerless.

So, they're captured by humans and for the first time, apart from Rose, they're faced with a Strigoi. They come in a.. well almost taunt Rose and the others. Isaiah even feeds off Eddie *Sad face*.

Quote:
"Ah, how I love the Ozera spirit," mused Isaiah.

Chapter 20:
First sentence:
We needed an escape plan, and we needed it fast.

Adrian is once again in this chapter, in Rose's dream. Very handy for this situation, but as she's about to tell him where they are he disappears. She tries to "connect" with him again by sleepign a bit, but no luck. Well, of course it can't be too easy.

Quote:
"Be silent, girl. I don't find you nearly as amusing as I do Mr. Ozera."

Isaiah might be bad, but still- gotta love his love for Christian.

  1. These were some great intense chapters! I love the quotes you chose :) I really am enjoying the smaller things I missed the first time round. I cannot believe we are almost done with book 2!
