Re-readathon: Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead chapter #10
To keep up with our goal of re-reading more of our favorite books this year and re-discover them we created this challenge for ourselves to help accomplish that goal. We will be reading one chapter each day and also doing a blog post about the chapter, going into detail about each chapter in the book. We decided to start our re-read with Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead.

Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead
St. Vladimir’s Academy isn’t just any boarding school—it’s a hidden place where vampires are educated in the ways of magic and half-human teens train to protect them. Rose Hathaway is a Dhampir, a bodyguard for her best friend Lissa, a Moroi Vampire Princess. They’ve been on the run, but now they’re being dragged back to St. Vladimir’s—the very place where they’re most in danger...
Rose and Lissa become enmeshed in forbidden romance, the Academy’s ruthless social scene, and unspeakable nighttime rituals. But they must be careful lest the Strigoi—the world’s fiercest and most dangerous vampires—make Lissa one of them forever.

Chapter 10:
First sentence:
"Excuse me, Mr. Nagy? I can't really concentrate with Lissa and Rose passing notes over there."
Sigh Mia. Annoying as ever.
Even though I can see it was annoying for Lissa and Rose to have their notes read out loud, Mr. Nagy was kind of funny though.

After the class Rose heads off hearing rumors still going on about the fox incident and also about what she told Jesse about Mia's parents.
While walking Rose finally lets us in on what it was, the incident so close related to the fox incident. It's a flashback of Rose and Lissa in the woods one day, skipping their last class, they get caught by Ms. Karp and are heading back when they stumple upon a dead Raven. Lissa always feeling sorry for animals picks it up and suddenly the raven lived. It flies off after looking at Lissa for a moment. Ms. Karp then frantic tells them not tell anyone about what happened.
Mason pulls her back to the present and tells Rose that he's been looking into Anna and St. Vladimir and tells her she would probably need some primary sources to find out more.
Also Mason jealousy in Rose hooking up with someone else comes out and Rose walks away from him feeling sad she doesn't feel the same way about him.
Quote:
I still hadn't cleared Christian of the fox incident—I was pretty sure he was psycho enough to have done it as some crazy sign of affection for Lissa—but whatever his motives, he had shifted the attention off her, just as he'd said.
Well I do think Rose is warming up to Christian, haha. Only very little though.
We picked the same quote again! So funny! xD
ReplyDeleteYes Mia is so annoying right now! This was such an important chapter in the grander scheme of things... The note passing and teach comments was so funny and Mason is an awesome character. What a great start to the reveal of a huge part of this story :)
