Re-readathon: Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead chapter #8

To keep up with our goal of re-reading more of our favorite books this year and re-discover them we created this challenge for ourselves to help accomplish that goal. We will be reading one chapter each day and also doing a blog post about the chapter, going into detail about each chapter in the book. We decided to start our re-read with Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead.
Co-hosted by Stephanie @ Bookfever & me!

Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead

St. Vladimir’s Academy isn’t just any boarding school—it’s a hidden place where vampires are educated in the ways of magic and half-human teens train to protect them. Rose Hathaway is a Dhampir, a bodyguard for her best friend Lissa, a Moroi Vampire Princess. They’ve been on the run, but now they’re being dragged back to St. Vladimir’s—the very place where they’re most in danger...

Rose and Lissa become enmeshed in forbidden romance, the Academy’s ruthless social scene, and unspeakable nighttime rituals. But they must be careful lest the Strigoi—the world’s fiercest and most dangerous vampires—make Lissa one of them forever.

Chapter 8:
First sentence:
Burning with anger, I fought harder and better that day than I ever had in any of my classes with the novices.

I loooooved this chapter! It was so much fun even though I feel sorry for Lissa about the fox. People are staring and talking about her.. again. Can't be fun. Mia us really a... just awful. However Rose was really great in this chapter, still as protective towards Lissa as ever and she still doesn't want her near Christian- especially after the incident in class. Which is the best ever! Ralf comes over and starts talking about the fox incident and then bum he catches on fire! Christian of course. Greatest thing ever. And then he's sent to Kirova and he's just all relaxed about it. So sweet of him to protect Lissa like that.
The chapter ends with Rose going into Lissa's mind! So can't wait for that in the next chapter.

Quote:

Since neither Jacob nor Ralf would have self Ralf on fire, it sort of made the culprit obvious. The fact that Christian was laughing hysterically sort of gave it away too.
Christian is so awesome!

2 things I loved: Rose's pacifier remark to Mia and Lissa's sneakiness :)
