Re-readathon: Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead chapter #21

To keep up with our goal of re-reading more of our favorite books this year and re-discover them we created this challenge for ourselves to help accomplish that goal. We will be reading one chapter each day and also doing a blog post about the chapter, going into detail about each chapter in the book. We decided to start our re-read with Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead.

Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead

St. Vladimir’s Academy isn’t just any boarding school—it’s a hidden place where vampires are educated in the ways of magic and half-human teens train to protect them. Rose Hathaway is a Dhampir, a bodyguard for her best friend Lissa, a Moroi Vampire Princess. They’ve been on the run, but now they’re being dragged back to St. Vladimir’s—the very place where they’re most in danger...

Rose and Lissa become enmeshed in forbidden romance, the Academy’s ruthless social scene, and unspeakable nighttime rituals. But they must be careful lest the Strigoi—the world’s fiercest and most dangerous vampires—make Lissa one of them forever.

Chapter 21:
First sentence:
I'd never been completely naked around a guy before.

Start of this chapter is Dimitri and Rose kissing. Knowing now that it's the necklace it's kind like "Damn, why can't they kiss for real." But a kiss is a kiss I guess. For now. However it's a good thing Dimitri figures it out so that they can go to save Lissa. If he hadn't.. who knows what would happen. Good thing he threw the necklace out the window, but with everything happening they don't even have time to talk about it and Rose of course thinks about what happened despite everything. Because, they do have feelings for eachother, obviously.
Luckily they all worked fast after Christian confirms that it were guardians and then Rose finding out it was Victor's guardians who took her. They're quickly on the road and Rose is able to lead them in the right direction. At the end of the chapter she's also taken into Lissa's mind when Lissa is taken into a house and Victor telling her that he wants her to heal him.

Quote:
I liked the way he looked at me, like I was the sexiest, most wonderful thing in the world. I liked the way he would say my name in Russian, murmured like a prayer: Roza, Roza...

Dimitri saying Roza.. Had to! I love when he calls her that.

  1. What an exciting chapter!! I loved how Dimitri covered for them saying Rose 'attacked' him. Victor should have just asked Lissa for help, I mean she loves him like a father, she would have helped him I am sure.

    Great post!!
