Re-readathon: Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead chapter #20

To keep up with our goal of re-reading more of our favorite books this year and re-discover them we created this challenge for ourselves to help accomplish that goal. We will be reading one chapter each day and also doing a blog post about the chapter, going into detail about each chapter in the book. We decided to start our re-read with Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead.

Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead

St. Vladimir’s Academy isn’t just any boarding school—it’s a hidden place where vampires are educated in the ways of magic and half-human teens train to protect them. Rose Hathaway is a Dhampir, a bodyguard for her best friend Lissa, a Moroi Vampire Princess. They’ve been on the run, but now they’re being dragged back to St. Vladimir’s—the very place where they’re most in danger...

Rose and Lissa become enmeshed in forbidden romance, the Academy’s ruthless social scene, and unspeakable nighttime rituals. But they must be careful lest the Strigoi—the world’s fiercest and most dangerous vampires—make Lissa one of them forever.

Chapter 20:
First sentence:
My mouth dropped open.

So we pick up right where we left of. Jesse and Ralf's telling Rose that Mia slept with them to get them to spread the rumors about Rose.
Jesse and Ralf won't spread the truth until monday, but Rose already starts that night and it isn't long until it has spread, that causes Mia to go up to Lissa looking for a fight pretty much and Rose has to jump in. Somehow Mia knows everything, she knows about Lissa's cutting and why she was in the hospital and well.. it ends up with Rose punching Mia before she could say too much. Rose is taken away by some guardians and luckily she's smart enough to tell Christian to follow Lissa as she walks out. What's not so good is what happens... Bad bad stuff. Lissa is in trouble, but then suddenly Rose is pulled out of Lissa mind and goes to Dimitri. I know, it's the necklace, but damn that moment rocks. At least they do what they've wanted to for a long time.
This wasn't even that long of a chapter, but I felt like it was much longer because of everything that happened. First at the party and then suddenly Lissa being in trouble and Rose and Dimitri. And the end... The end of the chapter you're left thinking that Rose and Dimitri sleep together.

Quote:
"Do you think I'm pretty?"He regarded me with utter seriousness, like he always did."I think you're beautiful.""Beautiful?""You are so beautiful it hurts me sometimes."

Such a good Rose and Dimitri moment ^^

  2. This was a great intense chapter. So many awesome moments. I loved it when Rose confronted Mia and when she reached out to Christian to help Lissa! Wow what an ending...
