Re-readathon: Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead chapter #18

To keep up with our goal of re-reading more of our favorite books this year and re-discover them we created this challenge for ourselves to help accomplish that goal. We will be reading one chapter each day and also doing a blog post about the chapter, going into detail about each chapter in the book. We decided to start our re-read with Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead.

Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead

St. Vladimir’s Academy isn’t just any boarding school—it’s a hidden place where vampires are educated in the ways of magic and half-human teens train to protect them. Rose Hathaway is a Dhampir, a bodyguard for her best friend Lissa, a Moroi Vampire Princess. They’ve been on the run, but now they’re being dragged back to St. Vladimir’s—the very place where they’re most in danger...

Rose and Lissa become enmeshed in forbidden romance, the Academy’s ruthless social scene, and unspeakable nighttime rituals. But they must be careful lest the Strigoi—the world’s fiercest and most dangerous vampires—make Lissa one of them forever.

Chapter 18:
First sentence:
I woke up staring at the boring white ceiling of the clinic.

So after her "fight" with the bench Rose wakes up at the clinic. Dimitri is there with her and they share a really sweet moment. Dimitri is obviously happy to see that she is okay and he evn got her a present, a lipgloss because he thought it would make her happy. She hugs him and at first he's all stiff not really expecting it, but then he puts an arm around her and they share a moment where Rose for one thinks about how it would be to kiss him- and then the nurse walks in. Rose is relieved that she's not more hurt, but from the cracking her ancle made and pain she was in she does't understand. She's told Lissa was there and suddenly it all clicks for her. Not just did Lissa heal her ancle, but Lissa also healed her after the car accident- after being told that there was no way Rose could have survived the accident she now knowss how exactly she did. Remembering that Lissa after the accident was in a depression and that it was when she began cutting herself Rose slips into Lissa's mind. Lissa is sitting in the church attic crying and her emotions all over the place. Luckily! Christian shows up, yay! Christian also informs Lissa that her brother Andre used to get together with Mia and that's why Mia is being a Bi***.. Andre wasn't really nice with dumping her. Then the greatest thing happens! Christian kisses Lissa! Ihhh! However she makes him leave and when he's gone she ends up cutting herself. Rose comes back to herself and sees Dimitri, worried, she then decided to finally tell somone about Lissa and get help. And that someone is Dimitri.
A lot of revelations in this chapter both with Rose realizing Lissa healed her, twice. All the things about Andre and Mia and then there's Christian's kiss showing how he feels as well.

Quote:
He watched as I slipped one of the shoes on. "You have a guardian angel." "I don't believe in angels," I told him. "I believe in what I can do for myself.""Well then, you have an amazing body." I glanced up at him with a questioning look. "For healing, I mean. I heard about the accident..."

He he Dimitri, let something slip there huh ;)

  1. You are right, a lot of revelations in this chapter :) It was quite an intense one and it feels like it is all slowly coming together. I'm so glad Rose has finally realised she can turn to Dimitri <3
