Re-readathon: Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead Day #3

To keep up with our goal of re-reading more of our favorite books this year and re-discover them we created this challenge for ourselves to help accomplish that goal. We will be reading one chapter each day and also doing a blog post about the chapter, going into detail about each chapter in the book. We decided to start our re-read with Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead.
Co-hosted by Stephanie @ Bookfever & me!

Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead

St. Vladimir’s Academy isn’t just any boarding school—it’s a hidden place where vampires are educated in the ways of magic and half-human teens train to protect them. Rose Hathaway is a Dhampir, a bodyguard for her best friend Lissa, a Moroi Vampire Princess. They’ve been on the run, but now they’re being dragged back to St. Vladimir’s—the very place where they’re most in danger...

Rose and Lissa become enmeshed in forbidden romance, the Academy’s ruthless social scene, and unspeakable nighttime rituals. But they must be careful lest the Strigoi—the world’s fiercest and most dangerous vampires—make Lissa one of them forever.

Chapter 3:

First sentence
Sending us straight to class after our meeting seemed beyond cruel, but that's exactly what Kirova did.

So I gotta agree with Rose, they just got back and are just send straight to class. Kind of sucks, but well might as well start apparently.
Rose is as entertaining as ever in this chapter, she's not too happy about the long day of classes.
Rose's classes:
1st Period: Advanced Guardian Combat Techniques
2nd Period: Bodyguard Theory and Personal Protection 3
3rd Period: Weight Training and Conditioning
4th Period: Senior Language Arts (Novices)
—Lunch
5th Period: Animal Behavior and Physiology
6th Period: Precalculus
7th Period: Moroi Culture 4
8th Period: Slavic Art

(Thanks to Stephanie for writing them!)

Despite the longs days it seems that Rose doesn't have a too hard time getting back into the familar surroundings and back to her old classmates and friends, but she still has her mind set to leave again with Lissa. Some classes are better than to get back in though.
And aww Eddie was there! If you've read VA or bloodlines you'll know who he is. Really nice to meet him and now you really notice him because of bloodlines. Mason was also introduced he's a great character, too.
Actually we also heard about psi-hounds. Couldn't even remember them. They're kind of mutant wolves that have a psychic connection. They're used to track and were as an example send after Lissa and Rose.
This chapter basically takes us through Rose's first day back at school.

Quote:

Mason stopped walking and stared at me. "You're putting in extra time with Belikov?""Yeah, so what?" "Tha man is a god.""Exaggerate much?""No, I'm serious. I mean, he's all quiet and antisocial usually, but when he fights. . . wow, If you think you're hurting now, you're going to be dead when he's done with you."

  1. They're kind of mutant wolves that have a psychic connection. Kinda of reminds me of The Hunger Games! :')

Hha Mason is fangirling over Dimitri. xD

  2. I must say I loved the ending though, that just highlighted Rose's protectiveness and how bad-ass she is when it comes to guarding Lissa :) and what a great friend she is.

I absolutely love Eddie and Mason! It was awesome to re-meet them all over again!
