Re-readathon: Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead chapter#5

To keep up with our goal of re-reading more of our favorite books this year and re-discover them we created this challenge for ourselves to help accomplish that goal. We will be reading one chapter each day and also doing a blog post about the chapter, going into detail about each chapter in the book. We decided to start our re-read with Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead.
Co-hosted by Stephanie @ Bookfever & me!

Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead

St. Vladimir’s Academy isn’t just any boarding school—it’s a hidden place where vampires are educated in the ways of magic and half-human teens train to protect them. Rose Hathaway is a Dhampir, a bodyguard for her best friend Lissa, a Moroi Vampire Princess. They’ve been on the run, but now they’re being dragged back to St. Vladimir’s—the very place where they’re most in danger...

Rose and Lissa become enmeshed in forbidden romance, the Academy’s ruthless social scene, and unspeakable nighttime rituals. But they must be careful lest the Strigoi—the world’s fiercest and most dangerous vampires—make Lissa one of them forever.

*Remember there will be spoilers*

Chapter 5:

First sentence
Or rather, they had been Strigoi.

This next chapter starts up right where the other one ended with the big "dum dum duuum!" at the end. Rose is still in Lissa's head, but first we hear about what happened to Chritian's parents.
I love this first "bonding" between Lissa and Christian it's so cute!
And from one bonding experience to the next, Dimitri and Rose heading to their first training together. I love Dimitri just putting her to work with her training and then he goes to sit in a corner with a western novel. There also comes some more information about Dimitri and how he ended up at the academy after the one he previously was a guardian for was killed so he got assigned to Lissa when she showed up. Rose gets through her first day back and heads back to her dorm so we hear about they live at the academy. Rose's next day goes by faster both with training and everything at lunch though Rose gives Lissa a lecture about Christian (Buuuh!) telling Lissa to stay away from him.
With the students having magic powers makes the school day more interesting that's for sure, with them blowing papers around, but other than that they're pretty regular.
So wow a lot of things happened in this chapter. Christian and Lissa, just awww. But also not only did we get more insight into a day at St. Vladimir, but also Rose's first training with Dimitri. Yay!

Quote:

"So am I. I love pity parties, I wish I'd brought the hats. What do you want to mope about first? How it's going to take you a whole day to be popular and loved again? How you'll have to wait a couple of weeks before Hollister can ship out some new clothes? If you spring for rush shipping, it might not be so long."
Christian once again ^^ He's just so great!

Comments

  1. Christian and Lissa are adorable together. Weirdly enough when Lissa is alone I'm not liking her a whole lot but together with Christian I do. =D

We picked a quote from the same scene lol!
