Re-readathon: Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead chapter #22

To keep up with our goal of re-reading more of our favorite books this year and re-discover them we created this challenge for ourselves to help accomplish that goal. We will be reading one chapter each day and also doing a blog post about the chapter, going into detail about each chapter in the book. We decided to start our re-read with Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead.

Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead

St. Vladimir’s Academy isn’t just any boarding school—it’s a hidden place where vampires are educated in the ways of magic and half-human teens train to protect them. Rose Hathaway is a Dhampir, a bodyguard for her best friend Lissa, a Moroi Vampire Princess. They’ve been on the run, but now they’re being dragged back to St. Vladimir’s—the very place where they’re most in danger...

Rose and Lissa become enmeshed in forbidden romance, the Academy’s ruthless social scene, and unspeakable nighttime rituals. But they must be careful lest the Strigoi—the world’s fiercest and most dangerous vampires—make Lissa one of them forever.

Chapter 22:
First sentence:
"Heal you?"

Again, right where we left off with the other chapter. Rose in Lissa's head who's with Victor. He wants her to heal him so he won't be sick anymore and can take over the throne and do it his way.
Victor tells Lissa a lot of things, like her power and why she hasn't specialized in any of the other elements- because she is specialized in spirit. Seems like Victor also has done some research and knows exactly what Lissa can do. He's been behind all the dead animals, to see if she would heal them so he could be certain, also with some help from Natalie. I remember reading all of this for the first time and it was just *gaaaaaasssp!* Such a big surpirse that it first of all was Victor behind everything and also finally knowing about Lissa's powers and that Rose died, Lissa brought her back and that's why they're connected.
So, Lissa doesn't want to heal Victor because she knows what it does and it would mean that she would pretty much have to be his personal healer and go with him so that whenever he would need it, she could heal him. No wonder she doesn't want that. He goes about it like it's the best thing for her to do this and stay away from.. people and the stress.
Luckily the guardians has arrived and set in to rescue Lissa, but when Victor and all but one guardian, who Lissa uses compulsion on, they're not looking so Lissa slips out the window. Rose is back in the car and sees everything that Lissa is doing when suddenly, there's Christian. He's stowaway, as he says. Rose of course goes after Lissa so she won't wander around or get hurt. Christian comes, too obviously.
There were some major revelations in this chapter that answered a lot of the things that's been going on throughout the book.
I can't believe we're almost at the end..

Quote:
"What? What'd you see?" asked a voice behind me.I jerked up from my reclining position in the car, banging my head on the ceiling. Glancing behind me, I found Christian peering up from the cargo space behind the farthest backseats. "What are you doing here?" I asked."What's it looks like? I'm stowaway.""Don't you have a concussion or something?"He shrugged like it didn't matter.

Sneaky Christian ^^

  1. What an awesome chapter. I also remember how shocked I was reading this for the first time. My favourite part this time round was definitely Christian's sneakiness! It really shows how much he cares for Lissa.

Great post and I also cannot believe we are almost done with the first book! Wow time has just flown by :)
